Restriction:
It is the responsibility of the exporter to advise AQIS of the 
species / genera being presented for export and the appropriate 
endorsement that applies.

PERMITTED PLANTS AND PLANT PARTS, SUBJECT TO QUARANTINE 
REQUIREMENTS:

Due to the presence of Potato tuber moth (Phthorimaea 
operculella) all plants, cuttings and plant parts (leaves, buds 
& fresh fruit) from the following listed plants are subject to:
- inspection and freedom from Potato tuber moth; or
- appropriate treatment by fumigation

All plants and plant products transshipped through countries or 
districts where designated insects, mites, fungi, bacteria, 
viruses or nematodes occur shall be properly packed and sealed 
in Australia in such a way that they shall not be in contact 
with any other consignment. 

Approved methods for packing and sealing are:

- Closed packages; or.
- Closely packing-carton. If the packing-carton has air holes, 
the holes shall be covered with screen of no more 
than 1.6 mm fine meshes; or
- Packed on pallet. The pallet shall be closely wrapped on six 
sides with screen of no more than 1.6 mm fine meshes or with 
other insect proof packing materials; or
- Transported by sealed container. 

Plants and plant products exported by sea transport shall be 
transported in containers which are sealed and arrive in Taiwan 
with seals intact.

Exporters and agents are to ensure that all packages are sealed 
(with appropriate tape) following a phytosanitary inspection and 
comply with the requirements relating to transport of the 
importing country.

AQIS is to ensure that all packages are sealed in accordance 
with BAPHIQ requirements before issuing a Phytosanitary 
certificate.
