Approved methods for packing and sealing are: - Closed packages; or. - Closely packing-carton. If the packing-carton has air holes, the holes shall be covered with screen of no more than 1.6 mm fine meshes; or - Packed on pallet. The pallet shall be closely wrapped on six sides with screen of no more than 1.6 mm fine meshes or with other insect proof packing materials; or - Transported by sealed container. Plants and plant products exported by sea transport shall be transported in containers which are sealed and arrive in Taiwan with seals intact. Exporters and agents are to ensure that all packages are sealed (with appropriate tape) following a phytosanitary inspection and comply with the requirements relating to transport of the importing country. AQIS is to ensure that all packages are sealed in accordance with BAPHIQ requirements before issuing a Phytosanitary certificate.
